Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as a Body Shop Assistant and become a vital part of transforming damaged vehicles into like-new condition! Duties Assist with vehicle surface preparation, including sanding, masking, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality Support auto body repair tasks such as minor dent removal, panel alignment, and surface refinishing using hand tools and power tools Prepare vehicles for painting by applying primers, sealers, and surface coatings with spray guns and airless paint sprayers Conduct buffing, polishing, and detailing to enhance vehicle appearance and restore shine using automotive buffing machines and grinders Help with auto glass replacement, installation, and cleaning to ensure safety and clarity Maintain a clean, organized workspace by properly storing tools, paints, and equipment while adhering to safety protocols including respiratory protection measures Collaborate with team members on heavy lifting tasks and assist with general vehicle maintenance to support efficient workflow Qualifications Prior dealership or auto body shop experience is highly preferred but not required; enthusiasm for automotive work is essential Basic mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity of hand tools, power tools, grinders, and spray guns Experience with welding, sanding, surface preparation masking, and automotive buffing is advantageous Knowledge of auto painting techniques including conventional spraying and airless paint spraying methods Understanding of automotive surface preparation, auto restoration processes, and auto glass installation is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during auto body refinishing tasks Strong customer service skills paired with the ability to follow instructions precisely and work efficiently in a team environment Embark on an exciting journey in the automotive industry where your skills contribute directly to vehicle transformation!
