Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for customers needing vehicle repairs, providing expert estimates for auto body work and repairs. Your enthusiasm and automotive knowledge will help ensure a smooth, efficient process from initial assessment to completion, delivering exceptional customer service every step of the way. Duties Assess vehicle damage accurately through visual inspection and diagnostic tools, including automotive diagnostics, to prepare detailed repair estimates. Communicate clearly with customers, insurance adjusters, and technicians to explain repair procedures and costs. Collaborate with technicians to determine necessary repairs such as auto body repair, paint work, alignments, suspension, shocks & struts, brake repair, transmissions, diesel engine repair, and other mechanical services. Upsell additional services like oil changes, tire services, air brake systems, or wheel alignments to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue. Prepare detailed service writing documents that outline scope of work, parts needed, labor hours, and estimated costs. Coordinate with parts departments and manage workflow to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining high-quality standards. Handle cash transactions accurately when applicable and maintain organized records of all estimates and repairs. Experience Proven experience as a Body Shop Estimator or in auto service management within a dealership or collision center environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, auto body repair techniques, and mechanical systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts. Experience in auto estimating software and service writing is highly preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly. Background in dealership sales or automobile sales is a plus. Knowledge of various mechanical repairs such as oil changes, tire services, alignment procedures, air brake systems, diesel engines, and more is advantageous. Pay:
$50,000.00 - $68,288.67 per year
