Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Body Shop Technician Handyman to join our automotive repair team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about vehicle maintenance, auto body repair, and fabrication, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys hands-on work and is able to do handyman tasks as well for upkeep around the shop as needed. This is a part-time role where pay will be determined based on skill and hours worked. Duties Conduct automotive structural repairs, auto body repairs, and cosmetic restorations using welding, sanding, and painting techniques. Utilize MIG welding, soldering, and automotive welding equipment to repair or fabricate vehicle parts and sheet metal components. Perform auto restoration tasks including dent repair, auto painting, auto glass installation, and detailing to achieve a flawless finish. Use hand tools and power tools for assembly, auto parts installation, heavy lifting, and mechanical repairs. Apply fabrication repair techniques to create custom parts or modify existing components using sheet metal and automotive structural repair methods. Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, mechanical inspections, and minor repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols during all repair activities. Perform handyman repairs and upkeep when and where needed. Experience Proven dealership or automotive repair shop experience working as an automotive body technician or handyman in a similar setting. Strong knowledge of automotive parts installation, auto body repair, and cosmetic restoration techniques. Hands-on experience with MIG welding, welding repair, soldering, and fabrication repair techniques. Familiarity with automotive welding equipment, auto painting processes including airless paint spraying, and automotive refinishing. Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and general mechanical repairs. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, sanding tools. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and work processes.
