Job Description

Bodywork Prepper M-A Auto Service is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Bodywork Prepper to join our automotive body shop team! The Bodywork Prepper plays an important role in getting vehicles properly prepared before they move into the bodywork and paint process . The ideal candidate understands the importance of proper preparation and takes pride in producing quality work. If you have experience working in a body shop, enjoy working with vehicles, and want to be part of a hardworking team, we'd love to hear from you! Responsibilities Prepare vehicles for bodywork and painting Sand, scuff, and prepare surfaces for repair and refinishing Prepare damaged or repaired areas for bodywork Assist with masking and protecting areas of the vehicle that are not being repaired or painted Prepare panels and surfaces for body filler, primer, and paint Perform basic bodywork preparation according to repair requirements Clean and prepare surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of repair and paint materials Assist body technicians and painters as needed throughout the repair process Inspect your work to ensure vehicles are properly prepared for the next stage Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow shop procedures and safety guidelines Work efficiently while maintaining quality and attention to detail Qualifications Previous automotive body shop or collision repair experience is preferred Experience with sanding, masking, surface preparation, or basic bodywork is a plus Strong attention to detail Reliable, punctual, and dependable Strong work ethic and positive attitude Able to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment Willing to learn and follow instructions Able to perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday Compensation $15-$20 per hour, based on experience. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's previous body shop experience, skills, and ability to perform the responsibilities of the position.
