Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic Job Corps team as an Auto Body Instructor , where you will have the opportunity to train and mentor young adults as they prepare for careers in the automotive industry. You will combine hands-on technical experience with classroom instruction to help students develop the skills, knowledge, and work habits needed to succeed in the workforce. Key ResponsibilitiesQualifications and Experience Provide classroom and hands-on instruction in auto body repair, welding, painting, diagnostics, and related automotive skills. Develop and deliver lessons that align with industry standards, Job Corps requirements, and current workplace practices. Demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures. Teach students how to safely perform repairs, maintenance, welding, bodywork, and other automotive-related tasks. Incorporate OSHA and workplace safety requirements into daily instruction. Evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate attendance and progress records. Support students in developing employability skills, professionalism, teamwork, and workplace readiness. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment. Work with employers and industry partners to identify internship, work-based learning, and employment opportunities for students. Stay current with changes in automotive technology, repair techniques, tools, and industry standards. Support students from diverse backgrounds by creating a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Significant hands-on experience in auto body repair, collision repair, welding, automotive service, or a related field. Experience working with or training young adults, apprentices, adult learners, or students is preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive repair tools, equipment, materials, and safety practices. Ability to demonstrate technical skills and explain complex concepts in a way that students can understand. Familiarity with OSHA standards and workplace safety requirements. Ability to use computers and instructional technology as part of the training program. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. Industry certifications or relevant trade credentials are preferred. Why Join Our Team?
