Job Description
Job Summary Burns Chevrolet is looking for an Auto Body Technician! In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality automotive structural repairs, auto body refinishing, and cosmetic restoration. Your expertise in welding, fabrication, and vehicle repair techniques will ensure every vehicle is restored to its original condition or better. This is a paid position that offers opportunities for growth and skill development within the automotive repair industry all while working in a Air Conditioned Shop! Duties Repair and restore vehicle bodies using auto body repair techniques, including dent removal, sheet metal work, and structural repairs. Utilize MIG welding, soldering, and automotive welding equipment to perform welding repairs on various vehicle components. Fabricate custom parts or panels using fabrication repair techniques and sheet metal skills to match OEM specifications. Perform auto painting, sanding, and automotive body refinishing using airless paint spraying and sanding tools to achieve a flawless finish. Install automotive parts such as glass, trim, bumpers, and other components with precision and attention to detail. Conduct auto restoration projects by applying automotive cosmetic repair methods and automotive parts installation expertise. Use power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment efficiently while adhering to safety standards; assist with heavy lifting when necessary. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair progress clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction with the finished work. Requirements Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar role within a dealership or independent shop. Strong knowledge of auto body repair, automotive structural repair, and automotive cosmetic repair techniques. Proficiency in MIG welding, welding repair, soldering, fabrication repair techniques, and automotive welding equipment. Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and experience with auto maintenance or mechanic work is highly desirable. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, auto painting equipment, and auto glass installation tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or assembly processes. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship; strong problem-solving skills are essential. Valid experience with dealership procedures or working as an automotive body technician is preferred; certification in welding or fabrication is a plus.
