The ideal candidate will assist experienced mechanics in performing a variety of automotive repairs and maintenance tasks. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical systems, a commitment to quality work, and the ability to provide excellent customer service. The Mechanic Helper will work closely with the team to ensure vehicles are serviced efficiently and effectively. Duties Assist mechanics in diagnosing and repairing automotive issues, including but not limited to diesel engine repair, brake repair, and transmission work. Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, and alignment. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively. Interpret schematics and automotive electrical systems to aid in repairs. Support the maintenance of air brake systems and powertrain components. Help with the installation and repair of shocks & struts, suspension systems, and other vehicle components. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace to ensure safety and efficiency. Qualifications Previous mechanic experience or dealership experience is preferred. Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repair. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment related to automotive service. Understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures including alignment, suspension work, and tire service. Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot automotive electrical systems. Experience with GM vehicles is advantageous but not required. A willingness to learn new skills and techniques in automotive repair.
