Job Summary Beckstrom on 2nd is looking for an experienced Auto Body Technician, Auto Body Painter, or Hybrid Body Technician/Painter to join our growing team in Ogden, Utah. We are open to candidates who specialize in either collision/body repair or automotive refinishing , as well as experienced technicians who can handle both sides of the repair process. We are looking to fill this position immediately, and qualified candidates who are available to start ASAP are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time, in-person position with competitive compensation based on experience and production. Position ResponsibilitiesAuto Body / Collision Repair Review repair orders, work orders, and estimator notes to understand the required repairs before beginning work. Communicate with the Estimator regarding additional damage, parts, and repair procedures. Perform quality collision repairs, including structural, metal, aluminum, plastic, and fiberglass repairs. Straighten bent frames and repair structural components using appropriate equipment and procedures. Use hand and power tools to remove, repair, reshape, and install vehicle components. Perform welding and metalworking as needed. Prepare repaired surfaces for refinishing through proper body filler, sanding, blocking, and surface preparation. Ensure proper fitment and alignment of panels, parts, and components. Inspect completed repairs to ensure they meet company and industry quality standards. Automotive Refinishing / Painting Perform all aspects of automotive paint preparation and application. Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, cleaning, priming, sealing, and filling as needed. Mix and match paint colors to achieve accurate color reproduction and seamless blends. Apply primers, sealers, base coats, and clear coats according to manufacturer specifications. Operate spray guns and related refinishing equipment safely and effectively. Perform color matching and blending to achieve a quality finished repair. Inspect completed paint work and correct imperfections such as runs, sags, chips, scratches, or other defects. Maintain a clean and organized paint and work area. Follow all safety procedures and requirements regarding paint products, chemicals, hazardous materials, and personal protective equipment. Team & Shop Responsibilities Work closely with other technicians, painters, estimators, and the service team to maintain an efficient workflow. Communicate effectively regarding repair needs, parts, supplements, and potential issues. Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining exceptional workmanship and quality. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Keep tools and equipment in proper working condition. Stay current with industry repair, refinishing, and technology standards. Help maintain a positive, team-oriented shop environment. Qualifications & Skills Previous professional experience as an Auto Body Technician, Collision Repair Technician, Auto Body Painter, or Automotive Refinishing Technician . We are willing to consider candidates who specialize in either body repair or painting . Experience in both body repair and painting is a strong plus. Strong knowledge of automotive repair and/or refinishing techniques.

For Body Technicians:

knowledge of repairing metal, aluminum, plastic, and fiberglass components.

For Painters:

strong knowledge of automotive paint systems, refinishing techniques, color matching, blending, and paint application. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and a resourceful, "fix it right the first time" mentality. Valid driver's license. High school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States. I-CAR, ASE, or other industry certifications are a plus, but not required.

Experience Body Technician:

Demonstrated professional experience in collision/body repair is required.

Painter:

Minimum 2-3 years of professional automotive painting/refinishing experience preferred.

Hybrid Technician:

Experience in both collision repair and automotive refinishing is highly valued. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and sit for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and push materials and vehicle components, including items weighing 50+ pounds . Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welders, frame equipment, and other shop equipment. Ability to work around automotive paints, chemicals, fumes, and other shop materials while following required safety procedures. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators when applicable. Ability to work in varying weather conditions within reasonable limits. Why Beckstrom on 2nd?
