Essential Duties:
  • Install, upgrade, and service emergency equipment such as lights, sirens, radios, push bumpers, partitions, and compartments in law enforcement and public safety vehicles.
  • Perform vehicle disassembly and reassembly with care to preserve interior trim and OEM components.
  • Execute electrical wiring and system integration, including routing, soldering, and connecting of 12VDC and 110VAC components.
  • Interpret and apply technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to guide installation and repair tasks.
  • Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting of electrical and equipment malfunctions using appropriate tools.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with company safety protocols.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate records of work performed.
  • Collaborate with team members and provide support in meeting project deadlines.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, certifications, and best practices in emergency vehicle installations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical wiring, vehicle electronics, or installation preferred.
  • Automotive technician background or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of low-voltage systems, 12VDC/110VAC wiring, and control systems.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Soldering and crimping experience for secure electrical connections.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable to changing priorities.
ADA Requirements:
  • Bend, squat, climb, grasp, twist, reach, lift or otherwise move frequently for extended periods.
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs frequently, or more occasionally.
  • Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously.
  • Typically sits, grasp items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
  • Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards including chemicals which may require respiratory protection.
