  • 62 per hour + Guaranteed Hours Relocation Package Available Simard Automotive (est. 1997) is hiring an experienced A-Level Automotive Technician / Diagnostic Technician / Automotive Mechanic for our Fairbanks location. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Automotive Diagnostic Technician (A-Level) capable of: Advanced electrical diagnostics Check engine light diagnostics Drivability troubleshooting Engine and transmission repair HVAC diagnostics and repair Brake and suspension diagnostics Using scan tools, lab scopes, OEM service data Completing digital vehicle inspections (DVI) with clear documentation This is not an entry-level or parts-swapping role. We are looking for a technician who tests before replacing and takes pride in zero comebacks. We prove our diagnostics Qualifications 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience Strong diagnostic and electrical skillset Experience with OEM data systems (AllData, Mitchell, Identifix, etc.) ASE certifications preferred (not required) Ability to work efficiently in a team environment High integrity and professionalism Become "Simard Certified" Our highest internal tier recognizes technicians who demonstrate: High first-time fix rate Strong efficiency (110-150%) Clean documentation and communication Leadership and professionalism in the shop We provide a structured career path from A-Tech to Mentor, Foreman, or Specialty roles.
