Job description Billy Lawrence GMC in Abbeville, AL is looking to hire a dependable, honest, and hard-working automotive technician to join our team In our fully air condition facility. ASE Certification or any other manufacturer's certification is a plus, but not necessary. Experience in the mechanical field is required. This is an advanced position that requires the knowledge to diagnose and repair vehicles. Applicant must have an insurable driving record, be willing to train (online and hands-on), and furnish their own hand tools (we provide special tools). This is a full-time position (Monday- Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm) and pay will be based on experience but will range from $24.00to $38.00per hour produced. If you are a GM Certified Technician the pay is negotiable. Paid accrued personal and vacation time, Blue Cross Blue Shield health and dental insurance is available, and 401k with company match is available. Responsibilities of an Automotive Technician at
Billy Lawrence GMC:
Diagnose and repair to specifications - brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, petroleum powered and/or diesel engines, transmissions, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems. Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis. Perform road tests to diagnosis vehicles and to verify repairs. Use a computer to utilize factory software. Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology and attend manufacture specific training classes as needed. Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities as needed. Keep dealership management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur. Maintain an organized and neat bay. Adhere to all company policy, procedure, safety and environmental rules.
