Automotive Technician - Busy Independent Shop | No Weekends Damson Service Center is looking for an experienced automotive technician to join our growing team in Huntsville. We are a busy, established independent repair shop with a strong car count and consistent workflow. This position is ideal for a dependable technician who is comfortable performing maintenance and general mechanical repairs and wants the opportunity to increase both skills and earnings. What You Can Expect Consistent year-round workload Competitive flat-rate pay of $25-$50 per flagged hour, based on experience and capabilities Established technicians typically produce 45-55 flagged hours per week Time and support to learn our workflow before being expected to reach full productivity Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends Heated and air-conditioned shop Modern lifts, Hunter alignment equipment, diagnostic equipment, and quality shop tools Health, dental, vision, and life insurance Paid holidays and paid vacation Employee discounts Opportunities for additional training and advancement Primary Responsibilities Perform brakes, steering and suspension, cooling-system, HVAC, maintenance, and general mechanical repairs Diagnose common drivability and electrical concerns Complete thorough digital vehicle inspections Perform wheel alignments and tire service when needed Accurately document findings and communicate recommended repairs to the service advisors Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe What We're Looking For Approximately three or more years of professional automotive repair experience, or equivalent demonstrated ability Able to independently perform common maintenance and mechanical repairs Comfortable with basic scan-tool diagnostics and electrical testing Own basic professional automotive tools Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to continue learning Able to lift at least 50 pounds Advanced diagnostics, diesel experience, ASE certifications, and oscilloscope experience are valuable but are not required for this B-technician position. About the Productivity Expectation We provide a steady workflow and the shop support necessary for productive technicians to succeed. Our established technicians generally flag 40-50 hours during a normal 40-hour workweek. New technicians are given reasonable time to become familiar with our systems, labor times, and processes. We value accurate repairs, thorough inspections, and consistent improvement—not rushed or careless work.
