Job Description

Credence Automotive Repair — Rogers, Arkansas $800-$2,000+ per week Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM | No Weekends Credence Automotive Repair is looking for automotive technicians who want to become better technicians and aren't afraid to work to get there. You do not need to be an A-level master technician to apply. If you're already good at maintenance, brakes, tires, suspension, inspections, and general repair but want to become capable of handling more advanced mechanical work, diagnostics, electrical, and drivability problems, we want to talk to you. We're willing to teach and develop the right person. What is much harder to teach is work ethic, accountability, curiosity, and the desire to improve. A Big Flat-Rate Number Isn't Necessarily a Big Paycheck There are shops advertising some impressive flat-rate numbers. But the rate only matters when there's enough work available to produce the hours. Our compensation system is different. It combines guaranteed hourly compensation with additional performance-based pay. You have guaranteed compensation underneath you while still having the opportunity to significantly increase your earnings as your competency and production increase. Starting compensation depends on your current ability. Your earning potential grows with you. We're also not interested in having technicians perform necessary assigned shop work for free simply because it can't be billed to a customer's repair order. Assigned non-production work is compensated too. We're Looking for Potential, Not a Perfect Résumé We would rather hire someone with a solid mechanical foundation, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn than someone with years of experience who isn't interested in improving. Maybe you're currently doing: Oil changes and maintenance Tires Brakes Steering and suspension Inspections General mechanical repair …and you're ready for more. Good. We want technicians who want to progress toward: Advanced mechanical repair Electrical diagnosis Engine performance and drivability A/C diagnosis Diagnostic strategy More difficult and higher-value repairs You don't have to know everything before you get here. You need enough foundation to contribute, the ability to learn, and the willingness to put in the work required to improve. What It's Like to Work Here We take care of our customers and their vehicles seriously. We don't take ourselves seriously every minute of the day. We're a small shop. We joke around, give each other a hard time, help each other when someone gets buried, and try to make this somewhere people actually enjoy coming to work. The atmosphere is generally positive, relaxed, and informal. But there's an important rule: Customers and cars come first. When there's work to do, we work. When someone needs help, we help. When a mistake happens, we deal with it instead of hiding it. When we don't know something, we figure it out. You can laugh, have a personality, and enjoy the people you work with. We just expect you to get the job done while you're doing it. Our Shop Is Different — Know This Before You Apply We're going to be upfront about our current facility rather than let you discover it after you start.
Our shop currently has:
Four full-size service-pit bays A drive-over lift in one pit bay A shared two-post lift A separate diagnostic bay Technicians primarily work from the pit bays. The drive-over and two-post lifts are shared based on the work being performed. Some brakes, rotations, suspension, front-end, and other wheel-off work may be performed safely using jack stands when appropriate. If having your own dedicated two-post lift all day is an absolute requirement, this probably isn't the shop for you. We're looking for someone adaptable enough to look at a repair and think: "What's the best way to get this done?" rather than looking for reasons it can't be done. Where We're Going Our current facility works, but it isn't our end goal. We've had plans to expand the operation before. Like many growing small businesses, timing, staffing, and other business factors have caused us to postpone those plans. One of the things we need in order to move forward confidently is a strong, stable team. That's part of why these hires matter. We're not hiring technicians simply to fill today's empty bays. We're trying to build the team that allows us to increase capacity, invest further in the operation, and move Credence into its next stage. We're not going to promise a new building, your own lift, a promotion, or an expansion date that we can't guarantee. What we can tell you is: Standing still isn't the plan. If you're looking for somewhere you can come in, work hard, develop your skills, become an important part of the operation, and potentially help build something bigger than what you walked into on day one, we'd like to talk to you. What We Work On We're an independent general-repair shop. That means you aren't going to perform the same handful of repairs on the same brand every day. We see a broad mix of: Domestic vehicles Asian vehicles European vehicles High-end vehicles Occasional specialty vehicles Our work ranges from basic maintenance through difficult diagnostic and mechanical problems. That's part of the opportunity here. You'll be exposed to a lot. As your abilities increase, the work you're trusted with can increase too. Quality and Accountability Matter We're performance-oriented, but we're not interested in producing hours at the expense of repairing the vehicle correctly. A comeback isn't production. We expect technicians to follow proper procedures, document their work, verify repairs, and ask for help when they need it. We don't expect perfection. We do expect accountability. If you make a mistake, own it and help fix it. If you don't know, ask. If another technician knows something you don't, learn from them. And if you know something that can help the person next to you, help them. Who We're Looking For Professional automotive experience is preferred, but we're deliberately keeping the door open to different experience levels.
You should:
Have a solid basic automotive foundation Have your own appropriate hand tools Have a valid driver's license Show up reliably and ready to work Be willing to learn Be able to follow procedures Take pride in your work Accept constructive feedback Be willing to help teammates Be comfortable working on different makes and models Be willing to work within our current facility setup Care about becoming better at your trade ASE certifications are welcome but not required . We pay ASE renewal costs. What We Offer $800-$2,000+ weekly earning range depending on competency and production Guaranteed hourly compensation component Additional performance-based compensation Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM No Saturdays or Sundays Paid holidays after 90 days Paid vacation Paid training ASE renewal assistance Compensation for assigned non-production work Established customer base Variety of vehicles and repairs Hands-on technical development Opportunity to take on more advanced work as you improve Small-team environment Positive shop atmosphere Direct access to experienced technicians when you need help Opportunity to grow with the business What We're Trying to Build We're not trying to hire three identical master technicians. We're building a team where people have different strengths, work is assigned according to competency, and technicians have an opportunity to develop into more valuable positions. Maybe you're already a strong general-repair technician. Maybe you're a C-level technician who's ready to become a B-tech. Maybe you're an excellent GS technician who's reached the point where oil changes and tires aren't enough anymore. We're interested in all three.
The important question is:
Where do you want to be two years from now? If the answer is better than you are today , we may be able to help you get there. Come See It Before You Decide If your application looks like a potential fit, we'll invite you to the shop. We'll show you the pits and lifts. We'll show you where you'd work. We'll explain how work is assigned. We'll explain how compensation works. We'll answer your questions. Then you can decide whether you can see yourself working here. We'd rather have you understand exactly what you're getting into before accepting the position than discover something you don't like after you start. We're looking for people who can come here, make money, become better technicians, enjoy the people they work with, and help us build what's next.
