Job Description

Position Title:
Automotive Service Technician Reports to:
Store Manager Position Summary:
The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for performing basic vehicle maintenance and tire services in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role supports the service team by delivering high-quality workmanship, maintaining safety standards, and providing excellent customer service while following Big O Tires' procedures and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine preventative maintenance including oil and filter changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and battery services. Conduct basic vehicle inspections to identify wear, leaks, or potential issues. Assist senior technicians with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on more complex systems. Complete brake services, minor repairs, and adjustments under supervision. Use proper tools, equipment, and safety procedures while working on vehicles. Document all maintenance and repairs performed in accordance with shop guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools/equipment are properly used and stored. Communicate effectively with service advisors and team members regarding vehicle status. Stay current on automotive technologies and participate in ongoing training as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience of automotive systems and repair procedures. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment safely. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform advanced repairs requiring physical strength, precision, and endurance. Ability to lift to 100 lbs. as needed.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
