Sands provides: Three automotive dealership locations , including two Chevrolet dealerships and a Kia dealership Complete emergency and commercial vehicle upfitting Full dealership mechanical service and repair Valley wide mobile fleet service A state of the art collision center More than $10 million in parts inventory Fleet parts support for municipalities and organizations performing their own maintenance Municipal vehicle refurbishment , including pursuit and non-pursuit vehicles Repair, replacement and retro-upfitting of existing emergency equipment Upfit was the final piece of that fleet solution and it is quickly becoming an important part of our company's future. Our executive leadership is directly involved in the growth and development of this department, and we're investing in it for the long term.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This isn't a position where you'll perform the same installation every day. You'll work across a wide range of municipal, law-enforcement and commercial fleet vehicles—from straightforward amber/white commercial packages to complete red/blue/white patrol vehicle builds and sophisticated emergency systems.
Our technicians may perform:
Complete police and emergency vehicle upfits Lighting and warning-system installation Sirens, controllers and communications equipment 12V electrical integration Equipment removal and replacement Troubleshooting and repair of existing upfits Retro-upfitting of vehicles already in service Municipal pursuit and non-pursuit vehicle refurbishment Commercial fleet lighting and equipment installations We have the customers. We have the work. We have the infrastructure. Now we're looking for the right people to help us continue building the department.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience matters, but so does character. We're looking for technicians who take ownership of their work, care about craftsmanship, work well with others, and want to be part of a professional organization. Required Experience Proven experience as an Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) or emergency/fleet vehicle upfit technician Strong understanding of 12V automotive electrical systems Experience with relays, control systems and 911 circuits Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams Strong electrical diagnostic and troubleshooting ability Professional wiring, routing, mounting and installation practices High attention to detail and pride in workmanship Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards Own tools preferred Experience With These Systems Is a Plus SoundOff Signal Whelen Engineering ECCO Safety Group Code 3 911 Circuits and related control systems
