Arizona Position Summary ADS Suspension is looking for a mechanically skilled and motivated Shock Install Technician / Shock Builder to join our team. This position combines hands-on vehicle suspension installation with the assembly, servicing, and building of high-performance shock absorbers. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, pays close attention to detail, works efficiently, and takes pride in producing clean, professional work. Experience with off-road suspension, automotive repair, fabrication, or shock building is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who has strong mechanical ability and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Shock Building & Assembly Assemble ADS performance shocks according to specifications and production procedures. Install seals, pistons, shafts, wear bands, reservoirs, fittings, hoses, and other shock components. Fill shocks with oil and properly bleed air from shock assemblies. Charge shocks with nitrogen according to ADS specifications and safety procedures. Perform shock rebuilds, repairs, maintenance, and component replacement. Inspect shock components for wear, damage, contamination, or manufacturing defects. Verify proper shock operation before completion. Maintain accurate build quality and consistency from shock to shock. Keep shock assembly areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized. Suspension Installation Install ADS shocks, coilovers, bypass shocks, reservoirs, steering stabilizers, and suspension components on customer and company vehicles. Remove and replace factory suspension components. Install control arms, brackets, hardware, and related suspension components when required. Properly torque suspension hardware according to specifications. Perform basic suspension setup and adjustments. Inspect vehicles before and after installation for potential issues. Verify clearance, hose routing, reservoir placement, and proper suspension operation. Assist with test fitting and development of new suspension products when needed. Quality & Safety Follow ADS Suspension quality standards and assembly procedures. Inspect completed work before vehicles or shocks leave the department. Properly use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, lifts, presses, and specialty shock equipment. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow company safety procedures when working with compressed nitrogen, suspension components, vehicles, and shop equipment. Immediately report damaged components, equipment problems, or quality concerns. Qualifications Strong mechanical ability and understanding of automotive components. Experience working with hand tools and power tools. Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, specifications, and procedures. Strong attention to detail. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems. Ability to work independently and as part of a production team. Dependable attendance and ability to arrive to work on time. Ability to maintain quality while working efficiently in a production environment. Valid driver's license preferred. Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is a plus: Off-road suspension Shock building or rebuilding Automotive repair Suspension installation Motorsports Fabrication Performance automotive shops UTV / truck suspension Coilover or bypass shock servicing Shock-building experience is preferred but not required for mechanically experienced candidates willing to learn ADS Suspension's processes. Physical Requirements Ability to lift approximately 50-75 lbs. Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work underneath vehicles. Ability to safely operate automotive lifts and shop equipment. Comfortable working in an automotive and manufacturing environment.
