You do not need a perfect resume. Autovantage Service Center is looking for an experienced Senior Diagnostic Automotive Technician who knows how to test, think, verify, and find the root cause. We value technicians who understand how systems work, use proper testing procedures, and take pride in getting the diagnosis right.

Pay is $45 to $60 per hour based on demonstrated diagnostic ability, technical knowledge, experience, efficiency, accuracy, and the value you bring to the team. If you have developed advanced diagnostic skills and feel underpaid, overlooked, or limited in your current shop, we want to hear from you.

THE TECHNICIAN WE WANT

You are comfortable diagnosing problems other technicians struggle with. You understand electrical systems. You know how to read wiring diagrams. You know how to develop a test plan instead of guessing. You understand scan data and know when more testing is needed. You use meters, scopes, scan tools, service information, and your own experience to prove the failure before recommending a repair. You care about being right.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Diagnose electrical concerns Diagnose drivability problems Diagnose engine performance concerns Diagnose mechanical failures Interpret scan data and trouble codes Perform electrical testing Use scopes, meters, scan tools, wiring diagrams, and service information Develop logical diagnostic test plans Identify root causes instead of replacing parts based on guesses Perform advanced repairs accurately and efficiently Verify repairs before vehicles return to customers Document test results, findings, and recommendations clearly Communicate with service advisors and fellow technicians Help less experienced technicians when your expertise is needed

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Professional automotive diagnostic experience Strong electrical diagnostic skills Strong drivability and engine performance knowledge Experience diagnosing modern vehicle systems Confidence using professional diagnostic equipment Strong understanding of wiring diagrams Strong understanding of voltage drop testing and electrical testing procedures Ability to follow a problem from symptom to root cause Ability to work independently Accurate documentation Attention to detail Reliable attendance Professional communication Pride in workmanship Valid driver's license ASE certifications are preferred. Proven diagnostic skill, judgment, attitude, and work quality matter more than certificates alone.
