The Service Writer is the primary point of contact between our customers and technicians. This role involves greeting customers, accurately documenting vehicle concerns, preparing repair estimates, selling maintenance and repair services, coordinating workflow with technicians, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience from check-in to vehicle delivery. Responsibilities Greet customers professionally and build lasting customer relationships. Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms. Inspect vehicles with customers when necessary. Prepare repair orders and detailed service estimates. Recommend manufacturer maintenance services and necessary repairs. Obtain customer authorization before performing repairs. Communicate repair progress and updates throughout the day. Coordinate with technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and timely completion. Explain completed repairs and maintenance performed. Process invoices and collect payments. Schedule customer appointments. Handle warranty claims and service documentation. Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly. Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records. Meet sales and customer satisfaction goals. Follow company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations. Assist with maintaining a clean and organized service department. Qualifications Previous experience as an Automotive Service Writer, Service Advisor, or automotive customer service representative preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to sell recommended services without high-pressure tactics. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Computer proficiency and experience with shop management software (Shop-Ware, Tekmetric, Mitchell1, Tire Guru, RO Writer, etc.) is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. High school diploma or GED preferred. Skills Customer Service Automotive Knowledge Sales & Upselling Estimating Time Management Problem Solving Team Collaboration Professional Communication Computer Skills Attention to Detail Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to enter and exit customer vehicles safely. Comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive environment. Pay:
$18-$25 + Commission/Performance Bonus (if applicable)
