Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and driven Vehicle Safety Systems Inspection Technician (Formally known as Brake & Lamp) to join our automotive team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections of vehicle safety systems, ensuring all components meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Your expertise will help maintain the highest levels of vehicle safety, performance, and compliance. Duties Perform thorough inspections of vehicle safety systems, including airbags, anti-lock braking systems (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and other critical safety features. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment to diagnose issues and verify system functionality. Identify and document mechanical system repairs needed for safety systems or related vehicle parts, providing detailed reports for auto estimating purposes. Lift heavy components safely during inspections or repairs while adhering to safety protocols and proper lifting techniques. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining inspection findings clearly and recommending necessary repairs or maintenance actions. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of standard passenger car operation and maintenance. Mechanical knowledge of automotive parts, accessories, electrical systems, and mechanical systems repair. Hands-on experience with automotive tire changes, auto estimating, and vehicle inspections. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and automotive electrical testing devices. Knowledge of automotive safety standards, electrical systems, and mechanical systems repair processes as well as heavy lifting techniques. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
