Automotive Service AdvisorJob Overview We are seeking a friendly, motivated, and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our independent German automotive repair shop. Our shop specializes in servicing and repairing German vehicles, and we take pride in providing high-quality workmanship and an excellent customer experience. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, has a passion for everything automotive, and wants to become an important part of a growing independent shop. Previous automotive service advisor experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person. However, applicants should have basic automotive knowledge , be comfortable talking about vehicles, and have a strong interest in learning more about automotive maintenance and repair. As a Service Advisor, you will be the primary point of contact between our customers and technicians. You will help customers understand their vehicle's needs, prepare estimates, communicate repair recommendations, provide updates throughout the repair process, and make sure every customer receives professional and attentive service. Duties and Responsibilities Greet customers professionally and create a welcoming experience from the moment they arrive. Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and service requests. Schedule service appointments and help manage the daily repair schedule. Communicate with technicians regarding vehicle concerns, inspections, diagnostics, and recommended repairs. Prepare and present accurate estimates for parts, labor, maintenance, and repairs. Clearly explain recommended services and repairs in a way customers can easily understand. Keep customers informed about repair status, pricing, and estimated completion times. Review technician inspections and help customers prioritize recommended repairs and maintenance. Recommend appropriate preventative maintenance based on vehicle condition, mileage, and manufacturer recommendations. Maintain accurate repair orders, customer records, and vehicle service histories. Order or coordinate parts when necessary and communicate with vendors and technicians. Process customer payments and complete repair orders accurately. Help maintain an organized, professional, and customer-focused front office. Build long-term relationships with customers based on trust, communication, and excellent service. Qualifications Automotive industry experience is not required; we are willing to train the right candidate. Basic knowledge of automobiles, vehicle maintenance, and common automotive systems is required. A genuine interest in cars and the automotive industry. Passion for providing excellent customer service. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to explain information clearly and professionally. Comfortable using computers and learning automotive shop management and estimating software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple customers, repair orders, phone calls, and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Ability to work well as part of a team. Valid driver's license and a good driving record. Preferred, But Not Required Previous customer service, sales, hospitality, or automotive experience. Familiarity with German vehicles such as Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, or MINI. Experience with automotive repair estimating or shop management software.
