We offer a positive, team-oriented work environment where everyone works together to provide excellent service and quality workmanship. Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Smog and Repair Technician to join our dynamic team. Applicants must be team players, work efficiently in a fast-paced shop, and be available to work most weekends. A current California Smog Check Inspector License and/or Smog Check Repair Technician License is required, Duties Conduct smog checks on standard passenger cars using specialized testing equipment Diagnose mechanical problems related to vehicle emissions, electrical systems, and mechanical components Perform automotive repairs including tire changes, brake servicing, and basic mechanical system repairs Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment to identify issues accurately Inspect vehicles for safety, emissions compliance, and overall maintenance needs Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks such as fluid top-offs, tire rotations, and minor repairs Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs clearly and offering professional advice Experience Prior mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive systems is preferred Knowledge of automotive parts, accessories, and electrical systems is highly desirable Hands-on experience with vehicle inspections, auto estimating, and heavy lifting is a plus Familiarity with standard passenger car operation and mechanical knowledge is essential Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment effectively Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly Previous experience in automotive repair or smog check stations will be advantageous Join us to be part of a team that values technical expertise, customer satisfaction, and professional growth.
