About Outpost Vans Outpost Vans builds premium custom Mercedes-Benz Sprinter adventure vehicles designed for life on and off the beaten path. Every build is unique, and every detail matters. We're looking for an Install Technician who shares our commitment to quality and takes pride in building products that stand above the rest. Position Summary The Install position is responsible for installing premium aftermarket accessories and vehicle upgrades on custom adventure vans. This role focuses primarily on exterior installations while supporting interior installation projects as needed. Success in this role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering clean, precise work. Our technicians understand that quality always comes before speed. Primary Responsibilities Install Aftermarket Windows, Roof Vents, AC Units Install Roof Racks, Crossbars, Ladders, Awnings, and Exterior Storage Systems. Install Side Steps, Running Boards, Rock Sliders, and other Exterior Accessories. Install Lighting, Recovery Equipment, Bumpers, and other Adventure-Focused Accessories. Install Performance Components Perform minor interior installations as needed, including but not limited to: Flooring, Bug Screens, Paneling, Structure, Swivel Bases, etc. Read and follow installation instructions, technical drawings, and work orders. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Perform quality control inspections to ensure every installation meets Outpost Vans' install and safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Collaborate with fabrication, cabinetry, electrical, and production teams to keep projects moving efficiently.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Custom automotive / vehicle conversion shop Small-batch, high-detail fabrication (not mass production) Work performed both in the shop and inside vehicles Confined spaces, kneeling, bending, and overhead work required Exposure to dust, adhesives, and finishes (PPE provided)
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT
Outpost Vans provides all primary tools, machinery, and equipment required to perform this role in accordance with California labor laws. Employees may choose to use personal hand tools (such as hands tools, drills, or small specialty items) at their discretion; however, personal tools are not required for employment. All required safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided by the Company.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Comfortable using: Hand tools, ratchets, sockets, SAE & Metric Hand drills, impact drivers, torque wrenches Jig saw, grinder, sander Measuring, layout, and precision tools Floor jack, jack stands, etc. Preferred (not required): Operating and maintaining vehicle lift Wheel Mount & Balance Welding Qualifications 2-3 years of Automotive, RV, Marine, or Aftermarket Accessory Installation experience preferred (or other related experience) Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn new products and installation methods. Comfortable measuring, drilling, fastening, sealing, and performing precision installations. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. PAY & SCHEDULE
Pay Range:
$24.00 - $30.00 per hour (Compensation is based on experience, skill level, and demonstrated abilities). Full-time, on-site position (Oceanside, Ca) Monday - Friday schedule Occasional weekend work may be required based on project needs Non-exempt (hourly) Overtime paid in accordance with California law Paid on a regular payroll schedule in accordance with California law
