The ideal candidate will be eager to diagnose and facilitate automotive repairs using our automotive computer software and their electrical systems expertise. Compensation:
$38
  • $50 hourly
Responsibilities:
Apply a checklist-based approach to ensure a comprehensive examination of all vehicle systems, including the engine, air conditioning, transmission, and brake systems Perform routine maintenance, as needed, like checking fluid levels, rotating tires, and oil changes Create protocols for tracking diagnostic tests and repairs, acquiring necessary technical manuals, and more throughout our dealerships Explain automotive systems issues to customers to ensure a clear, transparent repair process Operate diagnostic equipment to accurately determine the cause of malfunction codes with the vehicle's integrated computer system Perform thorough multi-point inspections on incoming used vehicles Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment Conduct repairs and maintenance, including brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, electrical systems, and HVAC Prepare used vehicles for resale by ensuring they meet dealership and state safety standards Accurately document all work performed and parts used in repair orders Collaborate with service advisors and used car managers to prioritize repairs and meet deadlines Maintain a clean and organized work area Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines
Qualifications:
Stellar customer service and communications skills are mandatory ASE certification or comparable standard service technician credential, such as SAE, is attractive Must have completed a post-secondary training program in automotive service technology; associate degree a plus Possess a high school diploma or GED Technical school training is a plus Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician, preferably with used vehicles ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain) Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Valid California driver's license and clean driving record Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Owning basic hand tools, the dealership or shop may provide specialty tools About Company At Oxnard Mazda, we don't just offer jobs—we build careers.
