Auto Technician 3 year minimum work experience for all cars, candidates will be tested on various cars before hired. Advanced experience in automotive services brakes, tune-ups, suspension etc..

Work Hours:

8-5pm (1hr lunch) Monday through Saturday (one day off) work hours/days possibly subject to change during the spring/fall (daylight savings) Typical Job Duties - ~Lists any body damage on service order ~Preforms diagnostics ~Brakes ~Tune Ups ~Timing Belt ~Shocks/Struts ~Transmission ~Cooling System ~Drives customers vehicle into garage bay ~Hoists vehicle on lift using proper points on frame or pinch welds ~Removes and installs tires onto rims ~Balances wheels ~Performs wheel torque checks ~Repairs flat tires ~Checks air pressures ~Performs oil changes ~Fills out 50 point inspection paperwork and adds recommendations ~Must complete work within a respected amount of time ~Checks stock for tires on hand ~Helps with inventory count on all other stock items ~Cleans tools and machinery, sweeps, mops garage ~As soon as vehicle worked on is completed, bay area should be cleaned and clear of everything ~Empties out trash ~Organizes shop insuring everything is in the proper place at all times ~Loads/unloads tires ~Moves used oil, coolants and tires to recycling area ~Picks up tires/parts from warehouse/distributor ~Drops off/picks up customers ~Test drives customer auto occasionally ~Follows all safety procedures and guidelines (90 day probation on work performance/and following job guild lines) Physical Qualifications - ~Must be able to operate equipment such as tire changers, brake machines, hand held and affixed auto mechanic tools, scanners, shock/strut machine, lifts, wheels balances and basic office equipment ~Must be able to lift and move work-related items up to 75 pounds ~Must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands Island Tire & Service 2754 E Colorado Blvd. Pasadena, Ca. 91107 phone - (626) 792-0987

Education/Training:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Valid driver's license required with clean record

Experience:

Employees with more auto repair experience will be given preference over other candidates. Compensation - $28.00- $35.00 per hour for experienced applicants (min 3year experience) 3 paid sick days paid per year (after company policy min work hours met) 1 week paid vacation (after company min work hours/1yr policy met) Vacation gets increased to 2 weeks paid vacation (after company min work hours/2yr policy met) Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward assisting clients and working with co-workers. Mechanical aptitude combined with a willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced setting.
