Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, accurately documenting vehicle issues, recommending necessary repairs, and ensuring a seamless communication flow between technicians and clients. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and excellent customer service skills to enhance customer satisfaction and drive service sales. Experience in dealership settings, auto service management, or automotive repair is highly valued. Responsibilities Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns Write detailed service estimates based on vehicle diagnostics and technician input Communicate effectively with technicians regarding repair needs such as transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs Upsell additional services or maintenance opportunities to customers to maximize dealership revenue Handle customer inquiries regarding vehicle status, repair recommendations, and pricing estimates Manage cash handling transactions accurately and efficiently Maintain detailed records of services performed and parts used in each vehicle service order Collaborate with the sales team on automobile sales when applicable Ensure all documentation complies with dealership standards and automotive industry regulations Experience Dealership experience or auto service management background preferred Proven experience in auto estimating, automotive diagnostics, and vehicle maintenance procedures Familiarity with automotive repair specialties including transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake systems, and auto body repairs Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills Experience in auto estimating software and sales techniques such as upselling is advantageous Prior service writing or automotive service experience is highly desirable Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain professional communication with customers throughout the service process
Pay:
$35.00 - $47.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
