A-Level Automotive Technician Join Trident Auto Performance and Smog

As an A-Level Tech at Trident, you will handle a wide variety of vehicles—from daily drivers to Fleet Vehicles—working with cutting-edge diagnostic tools and OE-level software. This position is ideal for a technician who takes pride in doing it right the first time and enjoys continuous learning and independence while working in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain all makes and models with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment (scan tools, scopes, etc.) to troubleshoot drivability, electrical, and mechanical issues Perform engine replacements, transmission work (no rebuilds), smog-related diagnostics, and complex repairs Collaborate with service advisors to communicate findings and timelines professionally Mentor junior techs and support a team-oriented environment Keep detailed notes and documentation per BAR standards Follow all California Bureau of Automotive Repair regulations Qualifications Minimum 5 years of professional experience as an A-Level Technician ASE Certifications preferred but not required Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills Valid California Driver's License and insurable driving record Familiarity with California smog requirements a plus (we are a STAR-certified smog station) Must have your own tools Authorized to work in the U.S. What We Offer Competitive Pay (hourly or flat rate) based on experience Paid sick leave , as required by California law Paid holidays and PTO available after eligibility period Career growth support - paid training opportunities Steady work , with a well-equipped, clean and safe shop Friendly, family-owned environment with a no-drama culture All techs and staff are treated with dignity and fairness Trident Auto Performance and Smog is an Equal Opportunity Employer We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
