Trailer Mechanic Technician Dry Van ATL Tracy, CA Job Details Full-time $30 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Referral program Qualifications Vehicle inspections Equipment repair Diesel mechanics Trailer servicing Performing regular vehicle safety checks Driver's License Automotive welding equipment Automotive braking system repair Tire service Full Job Description ATL is looking for to hiring an experienced 53 ft Dry Van Trailer Repair Technician capable of handling full body-to-tire maintenance, including roof panels, flooring, brakes, and electrical systems. Key requirements include 2-5 years of heavy-duty trailer experience, proficiency with welding tools, and a valid driver's license.
Job responsibilities:
Body and Structural Repair :
Fix or replace damaged side panels, roofs, and wooden or aluminum trailer floors. Repair or replace swing/roll-up doors and hinges.
Undercarriage and Mechanical :
Service and repair suspension systems, spring assemblies, axles, and hubs.
Brakes and Air Systems :
Diagnose, adjust, and repair air brake systems, chambers, slack adjusters, and ABS electrical components.
Tire and Wheel Services :
Inspect tire tread depth and pressure, mount and dismount tires, and service wheel bearings.
Electrical Maintenance :
Troubleshoot and repair 7-way plugs, internal/external LED lighting, and wiring harnesses.
Compliance Inspections :
Perform routine preventative maintenance (PM) and DOT/BIT safety inspections to ensure road readiness
Qualifications:
4-5 years of experience Knowledge of 7 step brake checks, CSA inspections, DOT inspections Experience with changing out clutches Must be familiar with trailer doors, electrical issues, brakes, tires, air leaks
