Job Description

The Foreman is essential to the success of our service departments. The Transwest Foreman is responsible for dispatching orders to the appropriate technicians, making sure the work gets done efficiently and opening and closing repair orders. As a leader, you will be responsible for managing the technicians' work.

Directly supervise Technicians.

Assist the Service Manager in training personnel.

Carry out established policies and procedures.

Preform quality assurance activities as directed through quality assurance inspections, random quality checks and training Technicians in quality assurance.

Assist the Service Manager in resolving customer complaints and general customer relations.

Assist Technicians with finish and repair work.

Schedule, assign and supervise work with the objective of maximizing the balance of quality, productivity and profit.

Supervise maintenance of tools and shop equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.

Required to perform work inside and outside, in all-weather situations, at the shop division location.

Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 80 lbs.

Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.

Normal range of hearing and vision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.

Ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment (diesel and trailer service departments).Ability to multi-task.

Detail oriented.

Journeyman or Lead Technician experience is a plus.

Knowledge of how a service shop operates is imperative.

Strong customer service skills, organizational skills and leadership abilities are essential.

Excellent verbal and communication skillsCandidate must be a motivated individual who can work independently.

Ability to successfully complete a general abilities assessment, pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screen
Preferred Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
Previous experience in a similar role.

Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel trucks.

Diesel Engine Technology Certification(s) and/or Education
