Tired of flat-rate pressure, repetitive dealership work, and fixing the same thing every day? High Desert Scouts is hiring a skilled General Automotive Mechanic to join our team. We work on the kind of vehicles most mechanics actually enjoy: Classic International Scouts Broncos, Jeeps, and vintage 4x4s Classic trucks and restoration projects Custom builds and engine/drivetrain work Brakes, suspension, steering, and diagnostics Advanced automotive electrical troubleshooting and repair Classic vehicle rewiring and harness replacement EFI, engine-management, and aftermarket wiring Charging, starting, ignition, and grounding-system diagnosis Gauge, lighting, relay, fuse-panel, and accessory installation Winches, auxiliary lighting, switches, power accessories, and off-road electronics Electrical fault tracing using wiring diagrams and diagnostic equipment Basic service and repair on newer trucks and SUVs This is not a quick-lube job and it's not a high-volume dealership environment. We're looking for someone who can diagnose problems, turn wrenches, trace electrical faults, understand wiring diagrams, think through repairs, and take pride in quality work.

PAY & BENEFITS

$35-$50 per hour , depending on experience 1 week paid vacation per year Uniforms provided Full-time position Interesting, varied work every week Classic vehicle experience is a plus, but it is not required. If you have strong general automotive experience and want to work on more interesting vehicles, we want to talk to you. Experience with fabrication, welding, diesel, advanced automotive electrical, EFI systems, engine swaps, drivetrain work, or restoration is a major plus.
