Compensation and Benefits:

Base Salary Range:

$22.00-$25.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Truck Maintenance Technician performs routine preventive maintenance; inspections, servicing, and light maintenance repairs on a fleet of approximately 85 Class 8 tractors. This role is critical to keeping equipment safe, compliant, and road-ready while supporting a small, efficient maintenance team. This is not a full diesel mechanic role but requires strong mechanical aptitude. The position requires the ability to identify developing issues, and complete light to moderate repairs within the shop operations. Perform A & B preventive maintenance services on Class 8 tractors Perform A & B preventive maintenance services on Class 8 tractors Conduct DOT inspections and address DVIR items within scope Complete oil changes, filter replacements (oil, fuel, air, cabin), and fluid top-offs Inspect and repair: Tires (pressure, tread depth, condition) mounting, balancing, rotating, patching, plugging.

Brakes:

pads, drums, rotors, and calipers Lights and electrical systems Belts, hoses, and visible engine components Grease chassis per OEM intervals Perform minor repairs, including: Lighting and electrical wiring repairs Battery replacement Mudflaps, airlines, and basic fittings Maintain accurate inspection and service records Support general shop operations (yard checks, moving equipment, cleanliness) Communicate effectively with drivers and dispatch on equipment readiness May perform: Trailer PMs (as needed) on reefer and cattle trailers Seasonal readiness (winterization, cold-weather prep common in Colorado) Basic yard checks and equipment staging

Qualifications:

Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Class 8 tractor mechanic or completion of an accredited trade school program with relevant hands-on experience. Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills with heavy-duty equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable, hardworking, and capable of working a flexible schedule as business needs require. Basic to intermediate computer skills to complete electronic inspections, diagnostics, and work orders. Must supply and maintain personal tools required to perform job duties
