In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of trailers and heavy equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections of trailers, including brakes, suspension systems, axles, tires, and electrical components using schematics and diagnostic tools. Repair and replace mechanical systems such as transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, shocks & struts, and suspension components to restore trailers to optimal working condition. Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify trailer parts or equipment. Use power tools and hand tools to assemble, disassemble, and maintain various trailer components with precision. Diagnose complex automotive electrical systems and perform necessary repairs on lighting, sensors, and electronic controls. Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in accordance with company standards. Requirements Proven experience working as a heavy equipment mechanic or trailer mechanic within a dealership or industrial setting. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and HVAC systems. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation to communicate effectively with team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs and inspections.
