Car City in George Town, Grand Cayman, is seeking a skilled Level 2 Automotive Technician who can diagnose and repair vehicles across all service areas and has previously worked as a Level 2 general service technician. This role reports to the Service Manager. Responsibilities include performing work outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards, communicating with the parts department to obtain needed parts, saving and tagging parts if under warranty or requested by the customer, examining assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended, communicating immediately with the Service Advisor if additional work is needed outlined work is not needed or repairs cannot be completed within the promised time, documenting work performed and recommended electronically on the repair order, road testing vehicles when required or referring to the test technician, participating in manufacturer sponsored training programs schools and events, staying current on manufacturer technical bulletins, supervising trainee technicians as assigned, reporting machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor, keeping customer vehicles clean and notifying the Service Advisor of any change in appearance or condition, keeping the shop area clean and tidy, maintaining and accounting for all dealership owned tools and returning them in the same condition, operating all tools and equipment safely, reporting any safety issues immediately to management, and performing other tasks as required. Located at 151 Industrial Way in George Town, Grand Cayman, the role offers an island service career in the Cayman Islands capital with a mix of local and visitor vehicle work. George Town is a compact commercial hub with access across Grand Cayman. Candidates should have an excellent ability to read comprehend write and speak English, the ability to perform intermediate math, self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, positive interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic, the ability to display initiative work with limited supervision and follow instructions, the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment, excellent attention to detail and commitment, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, the ability to work with diverse cultures and teams in a friendly productive manner, intermediate or higher computer competency, and DMS platform experience as an advantage. ASE IMI NVQ BTEC

National or City and Guilds are requested, with other equivalent training and or experience considered. Manufacturer certifications in one of the store's brands are highly advantageous. HV awareness is necessary for workshop safety and training can be provided if not already held. Certifications in electric and high voltage hybrid vehicles especially the store's brands are highly advantageous. Automotive Technical Certification is preferred along with a valid driving license and 4 to 5 years related experience and or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
