Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, motivated Auto General Service Technician to join our team and support the maintenance and upkeep of our company fleet (including delivery trucks, vans, and equipment). This role is perfect for a recent technical school graduate who has about 1 year of hands-on experience. This position focuses on preventative maintenance, basic repairs, and safety inspections—this is not a heavy engine rebuild role. Pay Rate:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour (Pay based on experience)
Job Type:
Full-time Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, fluid flushes, filter replacements, and tire services. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to catch and report mechanical issues early. Assist with basic diagnostics on both gas and light diesel fleet vehicles. Complete service orders and accurately document all work performed. Maintain, clean, and organize shop tools, equipment, and the general work environment. Test drive vehicles to confirm repairs are successful and safe. Occasionally travel locally for minor roadside assistance or on-site fleet care.
Requirements Experience & Education:
Recent graduate from an automotive tech school/program with approximately 1 year of professional or hands-on vehicle maintenance experience.
Core Skills:
Strong basic understanding of automotive systems, tools, and routine maintenance (oil changes, tire flips, jump starts).
License:
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (no major violations in the past 3 years).
Physical:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and comfortable working in an active shop environment.
Attributes:
Reliable attendance, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to follow directions and work collaboratively.
Schedule & Work Environment Primary Schedule:
Monday - Friday, day hours.
Flexibility:
Occasional weekend and evening hours required to handle unforeseen fleet maintenance or emergency repair jobs.
Setting:
Active warehouse/shop setting with standard noise, odors, and moving equipment.
Physicality:
Hands-on role involving standing, bending, lifting, and tool operation. Preferred Qualifications Basic familiarity with delivery trucks, light-duty diesel vehicles, or utility trailers. Experience or comfort using digital maintenance tracking or service documentation software. Good communication skills to effectively report safety concerns or parts needs to the supervisor.
