Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Automotive EV Technician, where you'll play a vital role in servicing and maintaining electric vehicles with cutting-edge technology. Duties What You'll Do Diagnose and repair all Tesla models (Model 3, Y, S, X, and Cybertruck) and Rivian R1T and R1S vehicles, from routine maintenance to advanced electrical and high-voltage repairs. Use Tesla Toolbox 3 for diagnostics, alerts, routines, firmware checks, component calibration, and part replacement procedures. Work from the official Tesla and Rivian service manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair procedures. Troubleshoot 12V and low-voltage systems, wiring harness faults, CAN communication problems, and BMS alerts. Service A/C and heat pump systems, including refrigerant recovery and recharge, compressor faults, and Octovalve and thermal system problems. Perform suspension work (control arms, bushings, air suspension), undershield repairs, and precision four-wheel alignments. Mount, balance, and repair tires, and handle TPMS service. Replace and calibrate Autopilot cameras, and service glass, mirrors, and headlights. Run pre-purchase inspections, including HV battery health reports. Follow high-voltage safety procedures on every job, including isolation checks, PPE, and lockout procedures. Write clear repair notes and customer explanations, and keep tools and equipment in good shape. What You'll Bring At least 2 years of hands-on Tesla service experience at a Tesla Service Center, a Tesla Approved body shop, or an independent EV shop. Rivian experience is a strong plus. Working knowledge of Tesla Toolbox . You should be comfortable finding alerts, running routines, and following procedures in it without hand-holding. High-voltage safety training, and an understanding of how to safely work around HV batteries and systems. An EPA Section 609 refrigerant certification (required, or you must be able to get it within 30 days). Strong electrical diagnostic skills, including multimeter use, wiring diagrams, and tracing harness and connector faults. Your own set of quality hand tools. The shop provides the diagnostic laptop and software, lift, alignment rack, tire equipment, and specialty HV tools. Tesla or Rivian factory training, ASE certifications, or an ADAS calibration background is a plus. A "do it right the first time" attitude and pride in clean, careful work. The ability to explain problems to customers in plain language. A valid driver's license. Diagnose and repair electric vehicle powertrains, battery systems, and electrical components using automotive diagnostic tools and schematics Perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as suspension system repair, wheel alignment, transmission system repair, and vehicle systems diagnostics Interpret automotive wiring diagrams to troubleshoot electrical issues accurately and efficiently Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment to complete repairs with precision Conduct vehicle inspections to identify mechanical or electrical faults and recommend appropriate solutions Assist with vehicle service procedures including ADAS calibration, alignment adjustments, and system updates Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, including auto estimating documentation and service reports Requirements Proven dealership or service center experience working with automotive electrical systems and diagnostics Strong mechanical knowledge of powertrain components, vehicle suspension systems, transmissions, and diesel engines Familiarity with automotive wiring diagram interpretation and schematics for troubleshooting complex electrical issues Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostic tools and software for accurate problem identification Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Valid mechanic or technician certification; prior experience with GM vehicles is a plus but not required Join us if you're passionate about automotive repair, eager to work on innovative electric vehicles, and committed to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
