Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of commercial trailers to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and DOT compliant. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial trailers. Diagnose and repair brakes, suspension, electrical systems, lighting, air systems, landing gear, doors, and trailer components . Inspect trailers for safety and DOT compliance. Perform welding and fabrication repairs when needed. Identify mechanical issues and recommend necessary repairs. Complete repairs accurately and efficiently while minimizing trailer downtime. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts, and services performed. Communicate any major repairs or safety concerns to management. Keep the shop and work areas clean and organized. Coordinate with operations to prioritize trailers requiring service. Qualifications Previous experience working on commercial trailers preferred. Knowledge of trailer brake, air, electrical, and suspension systems. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues. Welding/fabrication experience is a plus. Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair requests. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Valid driver's license required. Preferred Experience Utility, Great Dane, Wabash, Hyundai, or similar commercial trailers. DOT inspections and compliance. Fleet maintenance experience.
