Job Description

Regional Utilities has been a trusted provider of water and wastewater services in South Walton since 1985. Formed through a franchise agreement with Walton County, Regional Utilities was established to ensure that this fast-growing coastal region receives dependable, high-quality utility services. Through the agreement, we have the exclusive right to construct, operate, and maintain the critical infrastructure that supports the health, economy, and environment of the communities we serve. As a Mechanic, you will assume a support role in product knowledge and standards of quality. You will serve as a valued resource for utilizing your mechanical expertise to ensure our utility fleet remain in proper operating condition at all times. Mechanics are expected to work independently without direct supervision. Maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all fleet Conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire repairs or replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services Diagnose and repair heavy equipment as required to ensure proper operating condition Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems Recondition and replace assorted parts to return vehicles and equipment to a safely functioning state Analyze problem areas for any significant wear or tear Communicate with third parties like dealerships, equipment vendors or manufacturers when necessary Maintain work area on jobsite in a clean and organized manner Produce timely and detailed electronic work orders and repair logs Perform additional duties as assigned Skills Ability to drive/operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment Ability to handle assorted tools properly and safely Attention to detail Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and written Must be able to perform basic computer operations such as opening and closing work orders Understanding the importance of time management Requirements High school diploma or equivalent A valid driver's license with a good driving record Ability to understand detailed technical schematics, owner manuals, and product warning labels Ability to operate hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and services Ability to operate and test vehicles and equipment Regional Utilities is a rapid growing utility company with competitive pay and excellent benefits including: 100% employer paid medical for employees Co. paid short term and long term disability insurance Co. paid life/AD&D insurance Retirement 401k with co. match Paid vacation and holidays Regional Utilities is a drug free workplace.
