The core idea:
You turn end‑of‑life vehicles into valuable inventory Position Summary The Dismantler is responsible for safely removing, inspecting, and preparing automotive parts from end‑of‑life vehicles in a salvage or recycling environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently with tools and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate understands vehicle systems, follows safety protocols, and contributes to organized, high‑quality parts production. Key Responsibilities Dismantle vehicles using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment while following safety and environmental guidelines. Identify, remove, and inspect reusable parts such as engines, transmissions, body panels, electrical components, and interior parts. Drain and properly dispose of fluids (oil, coolant, fuel, refrigerant) according to environmental regulations. Tag, label, and document parts accurately for inventory and resale. Assess parts for quality, damage, and resale value; communicate findings to management. Operate forklifts, hoists, and other yard equipment to move vehicles and components. Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are in safe working condition. Follow all OSHA, environmental, and company safety procedures. Assist with general yard duties as needed, including vehicle staging and scrap preparation. Required Skills & Qualifications Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components. Experience using automotive tools such as impact guns, wrenches, saws, and cutting tools. Ability to read and understand part diagrams or vehicle schematics. Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and meet production goals. Valid driver's license; forklift experience preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, or pull 50-75 lbs. regularly. Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tight spaces. Ability to stand or work on feet for extended periods. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely handle heavy tools, equipment, and vehicle components.
