We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic for assignment in The Villages, Florida. The selected candidate will maintain, diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical and powertrain systems on heavy-duty waste vehicles to ensure DOT compliance and operational safety. Hours are Monday

• $32/hr
• This position requires a valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
• Responsibilities Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication of moving parts, tire rotations and brake adjustments Use computer diagnostic software and electronic diagnostic systems to interpret failure codes and identify issues in diesel engines and related systems Repair and rebuilding faulty parts, including hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brake systems, transmissions, steering, suspensions and engines Maintain, repair and adjusting hydraulic and pneumatic components, such as cylinders, hoses, pumps and motors, particularly on packer bodies Respond to roadside emergency calls for on-the-road breakdowns to diagnose and, if possible, repair equipment on-site Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and conducting safety checks on all heavy equipment Complete reports, work orders, order parts and perform other administrative duties as required daily; Keep a detailed recording of work performed, parts used and labor hours Ensure all vehicles meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and OSHA safety standards Order and replace parts as necessary, ensuring inventory is properly managed Qualifications High School Diploma or GED A valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) 3+ years heavy duty truck maintenance Extensive knowledge of hydraulic cylinders, pumps and hoses Proficiency with diesel engine diagnostic software and troubleshooting electrical systems Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) and OSHA regulations
