About the Role We're hiring a Heavy-Duty Truck Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems on heavy-duty waste vehicles, ensuring DOT compliance and operational safety. Pay:
$28.00- $32.00 per hour DOE What You'll Do Perform preventative maintenance: oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, tire rotations, and brake adjustments Use diagnostic software and electronic systems to interpret failure codes and troubleshoot diesel engines Repair and rebuild hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, transmissions, steering, suspension, and engines Maintain and adjust hydraulic and pneumatic components (cylinders, hoses, pumps, motors), particularly on packer bodies Respond to roadside emergency calls to diagnose and repair equipment on-site Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs); conduct safety checks on heavy equipment Complete reports, work orders, and parts orders; maintain detailed records of work performed Ensure all vehicles meet DOT and OSHA safety standards Order and manage parts inventory as needed What You Bring Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy-duty truck maintenance CDL Class B required Clean driving record; ability to pass background and drug screening Extensive knowledge of hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and hoses Proficiency with diesel engine diagnostic software and troubleshooting electrical systems Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations Experience performing scheduled services (oil changes, brake inspections, suspension repairs) Ability to lift heavy objects (often 50+ lbs), bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods Preferred Qualifications ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certifications (T-Series) preferred #
