Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician to join our dynamic service team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical, suspension, and transmission. Conduct repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine repairs (including diesel engines), transmission system repairs, suspension system repairs, and alignment services. Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems effectively. Utilize hand tools and power tools proficiently for disassembly, repair, and reassembly of vehicle components. Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair needs, estimated timelines, and maintenance recommendations to enhance customer service experience. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed using auto estimating software for accurate billing and documentation. Assist in vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid replacements. Support the team in diagnosing complex issues related to ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology and other emerging automotive systems. Keep abreast of the latest automotive repair techniques, tools, and industry developments through ongoing training. Skills Proven dealership or service center experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair. Proficiency in reading and interpreting automotive schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration and troubleshooting is highly desirable. Extensive knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, and suspension systems. Skilled in using automotive diagnostic tools such as scan tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic testing equipment. Mechanical aptitude combined with familiarity with hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers) and power tools (drills, impact wrenches). Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures including alignments and transmission system repairs. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Ability to interpret auto estimating data accurately for service planning and invoicing. Experience working on GM vehicles or similar makes is advantageous but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
