Summary:
The Mechanic services and repairs rollers used in paper industrial machines. The mechanic is responsible for inspecting, disassembling, repair and re assemble mechanical rollers, interpreting blueprints and fabricate components and/or jigs to help in servicing those rollers. By applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, and troubleshooting the Mechanic disassembles, inspects and diagnose, categorizes, and store components. Analyze and suggest plans to repair or replace worn or broken parts or install upgrades.
Responsibilities:
Inspect and troubleshoot paper rollers condition Measure bearing clearances and install different types of bearings Read blue prints and drawings Disassemble and Assemble mechanical systems Familiar with measuring devices (micrometers) Utilize hoist, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools Operate overhead cranes, tow motors and fork lifts Fabrication experience a plus (welding, machining, and finishing)
Requirements:
Personally exhibit safety as a core value and effectively communicate a shared vision for safety Minimum high school diploma or have a GED equivalent Machining a plus, welding and painting Wear required safety equipment/PPE Continue to develop skills to become a multi-skill mechanic (including millwright, welding, and other fields as needed) Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills Work effectively alone or within a team Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively Analyze problems and develop solutions independently or with teams • This job description is not all encompassing; however, it is intended to be a general description of the responsibilities of this position.
