Job Description
Part-Time Fleet Body & Paint Technician We are looking for an experienced Body & Paint Technician to work part-time at our company shop maintaining and repairing the appearance of our fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. This is a hands-on position for someone who has experience with automotive or commercial body repair and painting and is comfortable working on a variety of vehicles and equipment. Our fleet includes pickup trucks, larger commercial trucks, trailers, and construction/heavy equipment . Responsibilities Perform body repairs on trucks, trailers, and equipment Repair dents, scratches, rust, damaged panels, and other body damage Straighten and prepare metal surfaces for refinishing Perform minor welding and fabrication associated with body repairs Sand, grind, fill, prime, and prepare surfaces for paint Mix and apply primers, paints, and clear coats Perform spot repairs, touch-ups, and complete panel refinishing Paint truck bodies, beds, equipment, attachments, and other components Remove and reinstall lights, trim, mirrors, bumpers, panels, and related components as necessary Maintain paint and body equipment and keep the work area clean and organized Help keep fleet vehicles and equipment looking professional and well maintained Qualifications Previous professional body and paint experience required Experience with automotive, truck, commercial vehicle, or heavy-equipment refinishing preferred Ability to perform bodywork from initial repair through final paint Experience with sanding, fillers, primers, paint preparation, spray equipment, and refinishing Basic welding and metalworking ability preferred Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to finish Good attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, sanders, and paint equipment Dependable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule Schedule Part-Time - Weekdays We can offer some flexibility in the exact days and hours for the right person. This could be a good fit for an experienced body technician looking for additional part-time work or someone who no longer wants to work a full-time collision-shop schedule. Work Environment Work will primarily be performed at our company shop . Unlike a traditional collision shop, the work is focused on maintaining and repairing our own fleet rather than customer vehicles. Projects will vary from small cosmetic repairs and touch-ups to larger body repairs and complete repainting of trucks or equipment. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who can look at a damaged truck or piece of equipment, determine what needs to be done, and complete the repair with minimal supervision. Quality, reliability, and practical experience are more important to us than certifications.
