Overview Hi Tech Utility Construction is a growing underground utility installation company specializing in the construction and maintenance of critical telecom infrastructure. Our team operates a diverse fleet of trucks, heavy equipment, and specialized machinery that keep our projects moving. We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to start a career in equipment maintenance and diesel mechanics. This position offers hands-on training, mentorship, and a clear path toward becoming a skilled Equipment and Vehicle Mechanic. Position Summary The Lube Technician / Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance services on company vehicles and equipment while learning the fundamentals of diesel engine repair, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and heavy equipment maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic automotive maintenance experience who is eager to develop a long-term career in the construction and utility industry. Responsibilities Perform oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and routine preventative maintenance on company vehicles and equipment. Inspect vehicles and equipment for maintenance needs and report findings to senior mechanics. Maintain accurate service and maintenance records. Assist experienced mechanics with repairs and diagnostics on diesel trucks and construction equipment. Learn diesel engine systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and equipment troubleshooting. Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized. Follow all company safety procedures and maintenance standards. Respond to field service needs as directed. Required Basic experience performing oil changes, filter changes, and routine vehicle maintenance. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment. Strong work ethic, dependability, and positive attitude. Ability to obtain a DOT certification, pass a mandatory drug screen, and have a clean MVR. What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience.
