3007318455-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Cox Automotive is seeking an Auto Maintenance Technician II to perform preventive maintenance and light repairs on a wide range of vehicles in a fast-paced automotive environment. You'll inspect, diagnose, and service mechanical and electrical systems; complete work orders accurately; and uphold safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Perform scheduled maintenance services including oil and filter changes, tire rotations, alignments, brake inspections, and fluid services on a variety of vehicles. Diagnose and repair intermediate-level mechanical, electrical, and drivetrain issues using modern diagnostic equipment and repair information systems. Conduct thorough multipoint inspections, identify needed repairs, and document findings clearly in digital service systems. Ensure all completed work meets Cox Automotive and manufacturer quality, safety, and compliance standards before vehicle release. Use scan tools, meters, and computerized diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot check-engine lights, warning indicators, and drivability concerns. Maintain an organized, safe, and clean work area, adhering to all shop safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations. Accurately record labor, parts usage, and repair notes in work orders and inventory or fleet management systems. Collaborate with service advisors, supervisors, and fellow technicians to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and deliver excellent customer service to internal and external clients. Participate in ongoing technical training on new vehicle technologies, diagnostics, and repair methods, and support knowledge sharing with junior technicians. Assist with quality control checks and road tests, as appropriate, to verify the effectiveness of repairs and maintenance work. Required Skills Automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting Intermediate mechanical repair (brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrain) Use of OBD-II and advanced scan tools Electrical system testing with multimeters and diagnostic equipment Understanding of vehicle maintenance schedules and OEM specifications Tire mounting, balancing, and alignment fundamentals Brake service and hydraulic system knowledge Basic HVAC service and refrigerant handling principles Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins Digital work order and service documentation skills Shop safety and OSHA-compliant work practices Time management and workload prioritization in a fast-paced shop Customer service and communication with non-technical stakeholders
