Fleet Service Technician Eldon C. Stutsman, Inc. is hiring for an experienced and motivated Fleet Service Technician at the Hills, Iowa location. About the Job As a Fleet Service Technician, you will perform routine maintenance, service, and repair of trailers, and other equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining Stutsman trucks and trailers in a safe and cost-efficient manner. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and work with a team, while maintaining a positive attitude. The typical work schedule is 40 hours weekly, with occasional Saturday and overtime hours as needed.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and service all systems on semi trucks, straight trucks, and trailers to meet the minimum standards set forth by the DOT Preventative maintenance including, but not limited replacing brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races, and associated parts Repair electrical and lighting systems Tire repair and replacement Responsible for A/C repairs Install OBCS (On Board Computer Systems) as needed Preventative maintenance on forklifts, pickup trucks, cars, small trailers, pallet jacks and other agriculture related equipment when needed Assist coworkers with more complex service operations including, but not limited to engines, transmissions, trailers and service calls Develop current technical abilities by seeking out opportunities to gain advice and learn from coworkers Update paperwork and hand in upon completion in a timely manner Maintain professionalism in the workplace by arriving at work on time every day, being fully prepared to begin duties at the start of each scheduled shift and promptly communicating any changes with the supervisor Ensure the working environment is clean and safe Drive trucks to other shops as needed Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must have prior mechanical experience Experience using power and hand tools required Valid Class A CDL license preferred, valid driver's license with no restrictions required Welding and fabrication background are a plus Experience in repair and maintenance of semi trucks is preferred Possess basic computer skills Able to prioritize tasks and manage time, with accountability for the quality and timeliness of their work Knowledge of air brake and ABS systems a plus Knowledge of DOT regulations Strong communication and customer service skills Commitment to regular, on time attendance Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must have the ability to work overtime hours as needed Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation
