Fleet and Equipment Mechanic Rocky Mountain Exterior Solutions Nampa, ID Job Details Full-time $30 - $38 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications Fabrication CDL DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Mentoring Hand tools Full Job Description Rocky Mountain Services is looking for an experienced, self-directed diesel and heavy equipment mechanic to keep our fleet running strong. You'll be the backbone of our maintenance operation — responsible for our semi truck tractors, dump trucks, and aggregate trailers (side dump, end dump, and belly dump), plus the standard trucks and support equipment that keep our asphalt maintenance division moving. Work happens both in our Nampa yard and out at active job sites. What You'll Do Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on semi truck tractors and heavy-duty diesel engines Service and repair dump trucks and aggregate trailers, including side dump, end dump, and belly dump configurations Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, air brake systems, PTOs, and trailer electrical/lighting systems Service standard trucks, pickups, and support equipment used by the asphalt maintenance division Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, drivetrain, suspension, and electrical issues across a mixed fleet Perform DOT inspections and ensure all equipment meets FMCSA and state compliance standards Respond to roadside and job-site breakdowns, performing field repairs to minimize downtime Weld, fabricate, and repair frames, hitches, and trailer components as needed Keep accurate maintenance logs, service records, and parts/inventory documentation Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and mobile service environment Mentor junior technicians and apprentices on best practices and safety procedures What You Bring 5+ years of experience as a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic, ideally with Class 8 trucks and trailers Hands-on experience with dump truck and aggregate trailer systems (side dump, end dump, belly dump preferred) Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and air brake systems Working knowledge of
DOT/FMCSA
inspection standards Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools for modern diesel engines Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain on Own set of hand tools Schedule & Location Full-time, based out of our Nampa, ID yard with regular travel to active job sites Standard hours with seasonal overtime expected during peak construction season Compensation & Benefits $30-$38/hour, based on experience Dental, Vision, Health, 401K available to be discussed.
