DPS Automotive is one of the Chicago area's leading vehicle restyling and commercial truck & van upfitting companies. We've been serving dealerships, commercial fleets, and retail customers since 2009 , installing premium aftermarket accessories and equipment with a focus on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. We're looking for a motivated Automotive Technician who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in quality work, and wants to learn multiple aspects of the automotive aftermarket industry. What You'll Do This position includes a variety of hands-on automotive work, including: Spray-in bedliner preparation and application Leather interior installations Commercial van and truck equipment installation Shelving, ladder racks, partitions, and storage systems Running boards, hitches, tonneau covers, and other accessories Vehicle disassembly and reassembly Measuring, drilling, cutting, and assembling components Quality control and final inspections Keeping your work area clean and organized No two days are exactly the same, making this a great position for someone who enjoys variety and solving problems. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate has experience in one or more of the following: Automotive body shop Collision repair Automotive painting or prep work Spray finishing or coatings Mechanical or automotive repair Vehicle accessory installation Commercial truck or van equipment installation Fabrication or assembly work You should: Be mechanically inclined Be comfortable using hand and power tools Have experience taking vehicles apart and putting them back together Have strong attention to detail Take pride in producing high-quality work Be dependable and punctual Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Experience Preferred Experience with any of the following is a plus: Spray-in bedliners Automotive painting or refinishing Body shop repair Upholstery or leather installation Truck accessories Commercial van equipment Welding or fabrication 12-volt accessories Training will be provided for the right candidate who has a strong mechanical background and a willingness to learn. $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
