Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems. Conduct repairs on powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drive axles, ensuring proper functionality. Repair and replace vehicle suspension systems, steering components, and alignments to maintain optimal handling and safety standards. Interpret automotive wiring diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems such as automotive electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and other electronic modules. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to execute repairs efficiently and safely. Maintain detailed records of all service work performed, including auto estimating documentation for accurate billing and reporting. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process. Experience Proven dealership experience or extensive service technician experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, schematics, and electrical systems with the ability to interpret complex wiring diagrams. Hands-on experience repairing powertrain components such as engines, transmissions (including vehicle transmission system repair), and diesel engines. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures including wheel alignments, vehicle suspension system repair, and general automotive repair tasks. Experience working with GM vehicles or similar brands is a plus but not required. Demonstrated ability to use automotive diagnostic tools effectively along with technical proficiency in automotive electrical systems. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in welding, vehicle systems troubleshooting, and auto estimating software is highly desirable.
