Z-Force Transportation is hiring an experienced Class 8 Truck Mechanic for our Chicago Heights maintenance operation. This position focuses on completing fleet repairs and driver DVIR repair tickets so equipment is safe, repaired, and ready for daily operations. The primary work includes brakes, suspension, air systems, electrical and lighting, tires, wheel ends, and other day-to-day Class 8 truck repairs. retirement plan with company contribution Paid time off Full-time, year-round employment Consistent schedule and steady work Established fleet with a consistent maintenance workload Stable, growing transportation company Responsibilities Review and complete daily truck repair tickets and driver DVIRs Diagnose and repair air brake systems Perform brake repairs and adjustments Diagnose and repair suspension components Troubleshoot lighting and electrical problems Repair air lines, valves, fittings, and air system components Perform tire and wheel-related repairs Perform wheel-end repairs and maintenance Complete preventative maintenance and inspections Complete DOT and safety-related repairs Identify additional mechanical or safety issues during inspections Accurately document repairs and parts used Complete other Class 8 fleet repairs as needed Qualifications Previous Class 8/heavy-duty truck repair experience Strong knowledge of air brakes, suspension, wheel ends, electrical/lighting, tires, and air systems Experience completing DVIR and DOT-related repairs Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently Valid driver's license required Must have own basic hand tools CDL is a plus, but not required Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
