at MTM Logistics Inc. in Elgin, Illinois, United States Job Description Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of diesel and gasoline-powered trucks and heavy vehicles: Read and interpret work orders, technical manuals, and schematics. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in trucks and related equipment. Conduct routine safety inspections and system tests. Disassemble, inspect, and repair or replace worn or defective parts in engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other components. Reassemble and test vehicle systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety regulations. Perform routine services including oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and filter replacement. Use hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, pneumatic tools, and lifting devices. Operate machine shop equipment (e.g., lathes, grinders) to modify or rebuild parts as needed. Maintain or calibrate test instruments and gauge tools to ensure accuracy. Utilize onboard computer diagnostics and digital tools to identify and resolve faults. Weld or fabricate custom parts and attachments, including lifting mechanisms and hydraulic components, following specifications or blueprints. Document all maintenance and repairs performed using shop logs or fleet management systems. Maintain compliance with OSHA and DOT standards. Proficiency in using hand tools, air tools, multimeters, diagnostic software, electronic testing tools, and other standard shop equipment.
